After ripping my running top trying to get up the tunnel a couple of days ago, I decided that it was time to clear the gorse and brambles which had encroached onto the path. The 'tunnel' is situated north west of Lyme's Weep field near Whiteway Lane in north Maidencombe. I undertake this chore on a yearly basis and monitor the SWCP to Labrador as well as the top path. The TCCT do a splendid job in the area but, inevitably, it is a strain on their manpower and resources to keep the paths clear of brambles throughout the year.
This time I was accompanied by my friend Andy Maltas who runs a gardening service, so his help was most welcome.
